"Why Babywearing Matters" by Rosie Knowles is available for purchase in our store.
This story begins in a time when the LennyLamb project didn’t even exist in the realm of dreams.
On a quiet May night in Warsaw’s Bemowo district, a family welcomed their first child. The world of the young parents turned upside down. Sleepless nights and the “nightmare of stroller walks” followed. The new family member—a wonderful newborn—refused to accept the stroller. Their cries during any attempt at a walk echoed across three neighboring estates.
That’s when a babywearing wrap entered their lives with all its power and benefits. It helped bring order to their daily routine, transforming walks into a pleasure and an incredible adventure. With their baby in a wrap, every reality became accessible. The young parents decided to share their experience with the world, showing how a “piece of fabric” transformed their parenting journey.Baby wraps and carriers were neither well-known nor widely available in Poland at the time.
So they decided to start a manufactory producing baby wraps. They found others who shared their passion. The journey to fulfill their dreams wasn’t easy. Along the way, they faced financial struggles, issues with employees and customers, and a moment when the LennyLamb project became homeless. Someone betrayed their trust and took advantage of them. Doubts crept in about the purpose of what they had built. Yet, they knew there was no venture they believed in more.
Today, LennyLamb is a vibrant company nestled among meadows and forests. The heroes of this story have been through a lot and learned even more. They continue to share the knowledge that is at the heart of their mission. That’s why they were so determined to have Rosie Knowles’ book, “Why Babywearing Matters,” published in Polish.
